Why we should have guns….it's biblical

Below is a conversation between Jesus and the disciples. Note what He says Himself about weapons. Yes, I know the scriptures also say that those who live by the sword die by the sword but if you think of what the Lord meant by that term, you would understand that He is warning us that as we use our weapons, they can also be used against us. He was not referring to the fate of everyone whether they have a weapon or not. I believe that He was referring to those with a "thirst" to use one on someone, not just to defend their households. And we also must consider those who are out of their right minds who may be able to get a hold of a weapon. There are laws set into place that attempt to stop that from happening. This is what Jesus told the disciples about attaining weapons:

Luke 22:31-38

31  And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

32  But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

33  And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.

34  And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.

35  And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.

36  Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

37  For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

38  And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

Notice that Jesus tells them to sell their garments for a weapon. That is a strong message. He knew that there would come occasions for us to defend ourselves physically. I am tired of these timid, whispering Christians who keep saying, "turn the other cheek." Jesus didn't mean for us to stand there and get beat up because we are Christians. We have to stop making people think that Christians are punks. We are not punks. We are not trouble-makers either but I bet the farm on it that if you tried to come in my house at night without my permission, you wouldn't leave the same way that you came in. Everytime you attempted to take a step, you'd think of me. I never forgot my training in the Marine Corps by the Texas Rangers. They didn't teach me to force myself on others but to defend myself from fools.

That's my take on the subject of guns. What say ye?
